Why am I writing this? Well, I was getting sick of paying $60 every time I wanted a new game that came out. Video games were costing me well over $130 every 2 months.
So, I thought I’d do a quick write-up to help any of you who are in the same position I was and show you that there is another alternative than modding your xbox 360.
But be warned, I’ll be going into the good points of Game Copy Monster, so if that’s not something you want to read, you might may as well leave now and buy games at $60+
My first impressions of Game Copy Monster:

First off, I am the average gamer like yourself and I too was getting sick of shelling out alot of money every time a new game came out or my favorite games would quit working due to over play and bad surface scratches. I am sure you have been there before playing a game and the system freezes or just quits all together. It happens due to disk surface ware or bad handling and now has scratches or even broken. Its bad enough paying $60 for games, then having to buy a replacement copy. That stings even twice as hard having to buy the same game twice or sometimes three times.
What I needed was a solution to end having to buy my favorite games over and over again OR Modding my xbox 360 No Way. not an option I was going to chance.
Even finding great game titles like the ones you have at a pawn shop are hard to find or they are still over $40 used + taxes and no Guarantee! Even Swap Meets were charging $25 for games that were scratched up or you knew they had issues.
A friend of mine told me about something he was using for his Xbox 360 and his sisters Wii. What he told me it worked great for copying games. So I had him show me what he was using and to my surprise he was backing up his games and took no time at all. He had told me that he had the same problem too with disks wearing out or they became badly scratched from his little brother.
What he showed me was a software program called Game Copy Monster and said this works better if you wanted FREE games.
I was shocked with what he had said. What he was doing was renting them and well……. you know ….
Who would benefit from a NO Xbox 360 Mod Decision:
You would be better off without a modded Xbox 360. Having my Xbox 360 banned was something I was not about to dabble into. I have had friends that had a modded xbox 360 and downloaded games worked fine for a few months and then Xbox Live Banned thier account and system.
If you are like me and every other gamer out there, I was not about to shell out another pile of money on a new xbox 360 console. Besides having a scratched disk is not a good thing. Seeing a $60 game scratched up will become an expensive coaster. Not even a disk repair kit will take the scratches out. Making a copy of your favorite games only seems logical. Much like the files on your computer YOU DON”T WANT TO LOOSE THOSE. You would have to be rich or crazy not protecting your games.
DID YOU KNOW! You are not breaking the law by making a True Copy of your game cd. You are Within your rights according to Copyright laws!
Having or Making a copy of software, music, games, or movies is LEGAL if you have the origional source. file, or disk.
If you feel brave enough and you don’t think you are going to get busted then you could borrow your friends disks, or rent games! (hint! hint!)
So I took up my friends advice and purchased Game Copy Monster. It did not take me long to make my decision considering even the back up games he had were in very rough shape due to his younger family members and drunk friends that came over. I could not imagine having to buy Halo Reach twice. Just playing that game would cost you close to $200 if you had to buy it twice.
How quickly Game Copy Monster can help someone:
So my friend showed me how to install the software and it was quite easy. It had its own installer program and all I had to do was click the install button. The install only took just a few minutes and it was done and ready to use.
OK first step was easy, insert game disk
Second was click the copy button!
then the software asked me the usual “do you wish to copy/back up
YES was the response and the software started to read the source disk, what seemed like 5 minutes the disk was read. Game Copy Monster then began to burn the files over to the blank dual layer disk I had in the DVD drive. The disk only took about 5 more minutes to burn and it was ready to use. Sure enough the disk worked! Online and Offline! Just like the store purchased Disk I bought for over $60. I had just made my first back up disk of Battlefield Bad Company 2. The best part is it only cost me the price of the disk which was just over a dollar. HOW SWEET IS THAT!
